North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA) Website Wins an Association of Excellence Award (AEA)

Flattering, to say the least… Meredith Communications’ client, North Carolina Home Builders Association (NCHBA), was awarded an Association of Excellence Award (AEA) by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) for their website, designed, and developed by our hard-working team. In addition, the same NCHBA website was also named Best Website for a State Association.

After years of innovative, intuitive website design for home builders across America, we are extremely proud of this recognition. It cements our commitment to our HBA client base nationwide and inspires us to keep innovating and improving on our websites to ensure our clients and their end-users have the best possible online experience.

What are the AEAs?

The AEAs are awarded annually, recognizing outstanding accomplishments of state and local HBAs and executive officers in the field of association management. HBAs of comparable size compete against each other in a number of categories and initiatives, including communications, non-dues revenue generation, community service, and more.

AEA for website design falls under the Communications category, and it can be a primary website or an affiliated website for a show or event, for-profit entity, issue, or program.

How are the websites judged?

The North Carolina Home Builders Association and competing HBA websites are judged on the following criteria:

  • Overall design
    • Is the design innovative? Are there any unique features or differentiating characteristics?
    • Is the user interface intuitive to use?
  • Easily accessible information
    • Is there demonstrable value to members and consumers?
    • Is it easy to navigate and find information?
    • Is content well-written, well-formatted and accurate? Does it inform and excite readers?
  • Other Criteria
    • How complete and comprehensive is the HBA’s written description of the website’s vision, plan, promotion, and maintenance?

The NCHBA’s website scored highly across the board, exemplifying the very best in design, creativity, content, accessibility, and interactivity. Ultimately, what the judges and all the users see is a reflection of well-planned information architecture with solid design principles. These are hallmarks of Meredith Communications’ web design.  We create websites that put our client’s best face forward – one that is engaging, informative, and easy to use.
