Welcome to #MarketingMondays at Meredith Communications! One of the toughest challenges of being a marketer in the information age is staying current on the newest trends, hot research and new tactics. I spend hours every week reading new sales and marketing articles. On Monday’s we feature an article round-up of the top 3 – 5 articles I read the previous week. Facebook culls 17 types of posts that Pages can no longer boost as ads by Tim Peterson

Facebook is curtailing the types of organic posts that Pages can convert into ads as it looks to make the purpose of its ads more precise, the company announced on Thursday.

Up until now, brands have been able to take any post published to their Pages and amplify its reach by paying Facebook to run it as an ad in people’s news feeds. That won’t be the case for much longer as Facebook continues to orient its ad product around delivering actual business results, as opposed to simple social engagement, which was something that COO Sheryl Sandberg emphasized repeatedly during the company’s most recent earnings call.

My reflections: If you’re a business Facebook user, you’ve noticed the changes lately – that’s for sure! While the changes can seem impossible to deal with, we have to face the reality that as a business themselves – Facebook can change pretty much anything they want! It’s up to us as the users of that site to adapt to the changes and find ways to thrive as we always have.

The buying process has changed over the years, thanks to innovations that make digital sales even more important than ever. The question is, have you begun the journey towards digital sales transformation yourself? And if you haven’t, how can you keep up at this stage of the game?

Embrace social selling and improve digital sales strategies. Thanks to digital selling, today’s companies must learn to quickly adapt to the rapid-fire changes in the buyer’s journey.

My reflections: This article was a great read! It gives you an inside look at just how marketing is changing – giving way to the digital era. They said it perfectly when they said “Anyone who refuses to embrace digital sales will most likely get washed up in the tsunami that is the digital sales transformation.” How true that is!

The 5 step approach to embracing digital sales is spot on! It takes the overwhelming feeling out of it and gives you a step by step transition into the digital side of marketing.

Fortunately, this is made much easier by utilizing project management tools. Let’s take a closer look at these tools, along with the latest digital marketing changes every business owner needs to know about!

My reflections: A good project management tool is always a must in the business world – especially in marketing! It helps keep your team together for collaborations, get prompt answers from team members on any questions, track tasks on their way to being completed, and SO MUCH MORE! If there’s one necessity in my business, it’s a project management tool.
