The Website Deets
The website utilizes our own custom, proprietary WordPress Content Management System called Catalyst™. Catalyst is the easiest, most flexible, yet most robust website back-end management system in the home building industry. It allows home builders to easily and efficiently manage their website in-house without having to rely on their webmaster for day-to-day changes, streamlining the process, saving time and money.
Designed For the User
As we said, letting potential customers get a feel for who you are through your website is a great way to build up the likelihood of them actually contacting you. The more real and personable you seem online, the more approachable you become. To aid in this, the hero image on the homepage that shows off how comfortable you can be living in one of their homes is a custom-created video using French Brothers employees as the actors in their model homes. As well as showcasing the homes and the lifestyles you can find in their homes and communities, it creates a feeling of warmth and familiarity. Furthermore, the French Brothers have a well-established brand logo, the colorful fleur-de-lys, so we went with colors throughout the website that complement the logo.
In addition, the primary navigation menu seamlessly floats on the hero video with dropdown menus to allow quick and easy navigation to the desired page. For example, from the Find Your Home menu you can easily select one of their 4 market locations. Within each market location you can easily view the communities, floor plans, and quick move-in homes, all on one page. We also utilize a hamburger menu on the desktop version — most frequently seen on mobile sites — to keep the desktop menu clean and uncluttered.
Under the hero video are three simple steps towards finding the perfect French Brothers home, along with an interactive Google map to find your ideal location. This further enhances their mission of making the process as easy as possible for clients; as they say, easy as 1,2,3. To drive that point home, there are multiple call-to-action graphics and copy points on each page to contact Kaitlyn, their Online Sales Counselor, for more information or to make an appointment to tour a model home. In addition, website visitors can schedule an appointment to tour a community using the online booking functionality. From the first time you visit the homepage, these virtual and online options are made clear to give people more confidence in the current climate.
With people preferring to do as much “shopping” online as possible before taking the step to contact builders for appointments, it’s vital to have as many virtual and interactive plans available as possible on your website. We’ve made sure that the floor plans on the French Brothers’ website are interactive and allow visitors to add options, place furniture, and even print out a personalized brochure of exactly what they are looking for in their home design. In addition, there is an extensive photo gallery per floor plan that showcases the beauty and quality of a French Brothers home.
Finally, we’ve made a point of creating copy that is purposefully written to focus on the homebuyer, not the company. Almost everywhere you look, even in their “About Us” section, there’s an emphasis on “you”. This is part of their overall vision and mission and we’ve made a point of creating copy that further drives that point home, making the website’s visitor feel welcome and understood.
