Twitter is a useful social networking site for home builders to promote their new homes because many Twitter users enjoy sharing information about their home search with family and friends. The key to keeping your company top of mind and gaining new leads depends on getting your content to show up in a Twitter search.

The best way to do this is to employ hashtags in your tweets. A hashtag is simply a word or phrase preceded by a hash or pound (#) sign. It’s used to identify messages on a specific topic. In order to cut through the clutter of hashtags on Twitter, it’s important to identify the ones your leads and clients are most interested in and talking about. Here is a list of relevant real estate hashtags you can use in your messages and content so you can connect with your targeted audience.

Hashtags may have originated on Twitter, but their popularity as a search tool has led other social networking sites to integrate them as well, including Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Feel free to use these hashtags on those sites so you can reach, attract and engage a much wider audience.

Do you use any other hashtags to engage prospective home buyers that weren’t mentioned above? If so, please share them in the comments below.
